It all began in the late 1800’s, in a log cabin on the windswept plains of the Midwest...
...Oh wait -- that’s “Little House on the Prairie.”
Actually, it started on the University of Washington campus in late 2006, when a ragtag group of 15 strangers landed together in Stu Stuart’s Experimental College comedy class.
They were men, women, black, white, gay, straight, and a kid in a karate suit. But they had one thing in common—a love for comedy. And they soon realized that there was only one thing worse than facing those cold, hard open mic nights alone - and that was facing those cold, hard open mic nights in front of two drunk frat boys and a waitress named Sierra.
So they banded together, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do them - well, okay, maybe not till death do them part. C'mon, they hardly knew each other!
They banded, bonded, and branded themselves, Stand-Up and Deliver, which was voted on unanimously over “Shut up and Drink.”
So come on out and enjoy the show. There's an accountant named Tommy; a radiologist named Ruben; a pianist named Robert; The Professor and Mary Ann – oh wait, that’s “Gilligan’s Island” – and the rest, providing a new spin and a fresh perspective from our varied walks of life. Charity event! Susan G. Koman breast cancer benefit! |
